Am now at Martin's, Lucinda's and Mia's place, enjoying sleeping all afternoon, drinking wine on balcony etcetera. Last week was mad, had plans to be out every night and come to work hungover without exception every day. Plan did not go well. Started off OK being out Monday, but then had to have night in on Tuesday (only second day of week) as feeling in very poor form. Out again on Wednesday and Thursday, unfortunately felt so ill on Friday ended up actually missing last day of work! I know... extremely poor form in deed. Sort of thing that would happen to anyone.
Moving out on Saturday involved Craig still being pissed from night before and us both running around hysterically shouting "where the fuck is everything, and oh god pantry still full of food how could we miss that" and so on. Were still frantically throwing things into bags when cleaners arrived and started to vacuum around us meanwhile talking to each other in mandarin and laughing. Hmm. Finally left flat, returned keys and spent arvo and evening at the Glenroy with friends, ended up being rather big night actually. Someone who I had thought to be a really close friend failed to show over stupid misunderstanding, so quite sad and upset - but managed to keep cool and not text / call (even at 4 in morning, very good).
Have some really close friends in Sydney tho, and will miss them dearly.
So here we go.

Durras, NSW, Australia
At Craig's parents in Durras. Really lovely yesterday to play with kangaroos, walk on beach etcetera instead of being at pub. Lovely yet different and new.
Funniest moment was, it seemed, when referred to kangaroos and birds and "stuff one cannot tell what sex it is," also when 20 minutes later was running around house shouting "what is it that you cook in if it's not a frying pan??" in a hysterical voice. Was pot. Craig said english has improved greatly in 5 years. Hmm.
News story out re: diets of pregnant women, and how very dangerous is to consume soft cheese, cold meats but also lettuce, bean sprouts etcetera. Was thinking how bad everything is these days, and how aware we are of it and adapting lives accordingly. But really is weird then, in view of all precautions taken, how children these days are all so ill - with allergies, asthma, obesity and ADD. Back when own generation was being born women would freely drink, smoke, eat salami and brie sandwiches, keep cats and not use baby-seats in cars. Yet somehow - we are mostly fine (atleast physically). Also interesting that Generation X was never told how to say please and thank you, or taught table-manners. Atleast not all of us. This has caused some interesting social conflicts; now that Generation Y is grown up enough to interact with us. Or is just all inside own head?
Anyhow... fridge and washing machine sold, one more week inside empty flat then going to Mia's. Will update blog when there (on awful Kafka-style Apple machine).
To do list:
Clean fridge and washing machine
Pack
See optometrist
Shop for underwear at Target
Get group certificate
Get everyone's email at work
Buy Jenny's book
Spend time at pub with friends

17 days
Not sure how much access will have to computer for the next little while, so… As said, cruise was fantastic! Will not get into detail too much; seem memories are rather hazier than first thought. But am sure everyone had fun.
Also seems am top match-maker! Richie and Brodie really hit it off. As result have been spending past two days at work trying to figure out who else might be compatible, in order to keep the group together while am gone etcetera. Puz and Jenny – although lifestyles too different and might present problem? Can not really think of anyone else.
Stressful right now, having to sell everything and all. Hate stress.

Morning...
Cruise great! Will get into detail later, but one funny thing - was just telling Pooja how the really "weird" looking people in black were not really close friends, but "normal" people were closer to self, pointing to Eddy and Vicky with baby and Megan - who unfortunately was at that moment wearing the babys hat and making a funny face. Hmm.

Work Policies
Completely strange few days at work, apart from today when was back to normal again. Including management matriarch passing through alcove just as seventeen of us (approximate number) were getting stuck into the leftovers from the buffet. Matriarch naturally had to make point of stopping, glancing majestically down nose, and declaring contempt for lazy employees having the cheek to be eating (total sin at my job) in middle of day in broad daylight, when surely there was some task that needed doing right that precise minute.
Do not have words to describe daftness of certain policies in place at job. All are adults here. One should not treat fellow employees like children in manner of kindergarten teacher. Really do not understand why it is never “Oh, gosh, thank you for working your butts of running around like headless chickens looking for bloody oyster forks or packets of matches – until your feet ache and your toes grow inward, when we are paying you… well, bugger all, really!”
Would really be positively surprised were this to occur. Understand, of course, this is improbable.
Flat starting to look empty now as almost everything sold. This is actually good, as this weekend we have Craig’s parents and sister staying, so obviously need room. Really tired though. Not sure how will stay awake until 10.30 PM when Karen arrives.
Cruise Saturday – whooohooo!

Wedding
Back from wedding. Think maybe Martina and Kosta were a little fed up with Craig and I acting like children – insisting on stopping for junk-food, eating in car leaving lingering smell of junk-food and so on.
Arrived a bit later than the others on Friday, as took scenic route via Melbourne. Then went out for dinner at Bowling Club in Jindy, where Nadia had the following conversation with bartender:
N – “We’ll have four coronas please.”
B – “They are very expensive.”
N – “Uhm… that’s fine… Do you have lime for those?”
B – “Er… no, we have a bit of lemon - but it’s not very fresh.”
N – “Alright… Cancel that order actually. What do you recommend?”
B – “Carlton Draught is pretty popular!”
Hahaha!
Later on in evening got offered $50 for my underwear; which after brief deliberation decided was very good, as underwear from Target and worth $8. So shot into bathroom to get underwear off (already had the $50). Unfortunately for the buyer I was too slow, so he lost his bet with his mates. He ended up paying me $50 and also his mate $50. Also threw in two beers for myself and Craig! Really was very good deal (apart from for buyer). Later on he showed us picture of his mate wearing my undies. Sometimes seems mad people are everywhere.
Saturday was wedding. Bec was gorgeous of course, whole evening was really good; great food, string quartet, candles etcetera. Only thing was everyone kept bringing up phrases like “Today I marry my best friend,” “the key to marriage is friendship,” cheers to friendship,” etcetera, so kept having mental image of self marrying Sarah, both wearing white – gazing into each others eyes blissfully. Was most peculiar.
Really feel very strongly that I will never marry my best friend, but rather marriage and friendships are probably areas of life kept best apart. I mean, when husband goes mad one must be able to turn to friends, and when friends go mad one can turn to husband. Not to mention spending entire time with just one person would be awful! Right?

To-Do-List
Alright, 3 hours until work. Going to make to-do-list.
Must:
1. Get photo done for EU drivers license and post letter
2. Clean apartment as real estate doing bloody walkthrough on Saturday when not home (including laundry, bathroom and vacuuming of floors)
3. Try on outfits for wedding on Saturday, also pack for trip as we are leaving tomorrow morning
4. Go to library as books a week overdue by now (first must find books)
Although will have shower first and try to recover from after-work drinks with Brodie last night. They had $10 jugs, also handed out free-wine-tickets. Why do pubs do that sort of thing? Then I went to see Nadia to borrow a top to wear to the wedding – ended up taking home three of her tops to try on when sober. Today? Maybe tomorrow morning before packing. Have no idea what have borrowed or even if they fit.
Just wish I didn’t have to work! Then I would have time for everything.

About Ebay
Stuff currently on ebay:
-TV cabinet
-Shelves
-Table and chairs
-Outdoor furniture
-Desk
-Bed frame
-Cross-trainer (good as new, hardly ever used)
-TV
Stuff about to be put on ebay:
-Washing machine
-Fridge
Stuff will never make ebay:
-Bird
(Imagine: “Fantastic and colourful seven-year old parrot type lovebird that can make extremely annoying sound biting bars of cage together and making “boooiiiiwwwng” type noise; habitually performed between 5 and 8 AM on Saturdays, also can squeak and shrill stridently at any part of day.”)
Have been getting up early for work this week. Though – it is only Tuesday. Even spent entire day thinking it was Monday and marking everything “Anna’s stuff for Tuesday, keep off” etcetera, which probably means will come into work tomorrow to find nothing where left it, as obviously marked “Tuesday,” therefore already over and done with…
Do not feel very fresh getting up this early – I mean! 4 AM. FOUR!! Is when normal people are still finishing up at pub, or having shower to cast off smell of pub… It is not normal to already be waiting for bus to work.
Also someone turned up at bus stop this morning asking if I knew when the next bus was, then proceeding to say that I looked “awake.” Why do people always try to make conversation – why? He was perhaps nearly blind (hope not, as said job was cab-driver) or was making joke about me not yet having done make-up or fixed hair since slept.
Anyway, must find better job once in London. Everyone thinks hospitality is all party and fun – but is indeed very opposite of that when it’s impossible to ever go out, as might miss starting time of shift!
